29/03/21 SMC Motor Group Aldershot seeks an experienced Workshop Controller Tester to join our workshop team.

This role requires an outstanding individual whose enthusiastic, positive approach will encourage exceptional levels of work and efficiency from our team of technicians.

As a Workshop Controller you will be responsible for controlling the work flow through the workshop, acting as quality control for the technicians’ work and striving to achieve a prompt first time fix for all work that is completed. This will ensure optimal workshop productivity and encourage customer recommendations.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Overseeing and controlling work flow to our team of 9 Technicians

• Ensuring efficient running of the workshop, with work being completed on time and to the highest standards

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate staff through coaching, development and managerial support.

This is a busy role so excellent time management and organisational skills are essential.

We prefer applications from candidates with current or recent main dealer experience with any volume brand.

The ideal candidate requirements are:

• A strong career track record in workshop control / management

• Excellent Customer Service Skills and Focus

• Technical Background and experience

• Experience of the Renault or SEAT(VW) systems

• Experience in managing a team of 6 or more motor vehicle technicians

• Understanding of Workshop loading, utilisation, efficiency, productivity and work quality

This role will operate Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm with 1 /2 hour lunch break plus alternate Saturday mornings 8:30am to 12:30pm, paid at plain time.


29/03/21 SMC Motor Group requires an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician at their Aldershot and Weybridge branches.

Mon – Fri 8am to 5:00pm (1/2 hr for lunch) 1-in-4 Sat mornings on rota 8:30am to 12.30pm

The role involves servicing, maintenance and repair of cars to the highest standards whilst maintaining optimal efficiencies and first-time fix.

Candidates should have Main Dealer experience (ideally Renault and Dacia) along with a City & Guilds or NVQ level III Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualifications. Some knowledge and understanding of electric vehicles would be an advantage.

You should also be fully equipped with own tools and hold a full UK Driver’s licence. Be used to carrying out electronic Health Checks Salary is based on experience / qualifications. EV experience will be beneficial.
